Part of the fun of establishing Think Boutique has been discovering interesting suppliers throughout the UK working on interesting ways of producing ethical fashion and paying them a visit to see it in action!
One of my favourites has been Antiform based down in Leeds. It was a city I had never visited before so it was an adventure from the start navigating our way to the Antiform studio in a little laneway in the city’s buzzing university area. We had timed our visit to coincide with one of the Antiform monthly swapping events. On arrival we were greeted by the sight of rails of clothes and suitcases of shoes and even a washing line of pants, with lots of eager swappers having a rummage through in the sunshine.
After a glass of Pimms and some Brownie to perk up the weary travelling brain, Lizzie, Antiform’s founder, showed us the collection and explained all about her unique approach to producing the unusual pieces that make Antiform such a quirky brand.
The studio was packed with reams of end of line fabrics recovered from various mills in the area, samples of different leather that would otherwise be in landfill that had been cleverly converted into buckles for jackets, skirts and trousers and left overs from the swapping event that become linings. The fact that I was able to pick and choose the fabrics for the Autumn Winter collection was fab and I was spoilt for choice, gorgeous tweeds and stunning camel, funky patterned silks for vests and lots of inspiration from Lizzie.
I had a ball and felt that I was able to have a truly unique collection from Antiform for Think Boutique customers. By far my favourite piece is the stunning camel cardigan coat I hope you love the collection as much as I do!
Love {Think} xx
